What freedom of speech do expats have in Bermuda?
A front page Royal Gazette story about a Bermudian 'living in fear' in the USA over airing her political views there has hit a raw nerve among many in Bermuda, being shared over 1,500 times.
Among the more than 200 comments on the article, many refer to the muzzled experience many expats in Bermuda feel over airing their opinions. Having spoken to many about these sorts of issues, it reflects a broader feeling that non-Bermudians have to be careful in what they say, especially if they are on work permits. So what rights do people actually have?
