The Minister has recently published an updated policy on people seeking permission to reside in Bermuda on an annual basis, without working.
This has been an option for a long time, the digital nomad policy was a re-brand of it, and I expect to see many digital nomads changing
The ins and outs of favouring Bermudians
I recently posted about some of the proposed changes to Bermuda's work permit policies. One thing that arises is the suggestion of a hiring hierarchy - favouring Bermudians first, then spouses, then divorced parents of Bermudians, then PRC holders, then other non-Bermudians with a 'qualifying connection'
New draft work permit policies published for consultation
The Department for Immigration has published a draft new set of work permit policies to replace the current policies, dating from 2015. There is a consultation running until the 4th July, and everybody is invited to give their feedback. This is only a proposal at this stage.
