Simplified procedure for recognising Bermudians born overseas

For Bermudians born overseas prior to September 2020, establishing Bermudian status could often be quite difficult. It required an application to be made to Immigration, supported by an affidavit from one of the parents, confirming that the parent was domiciled in Bermuda at the time of birth.
Domicile is a tricky subject. It is based on somebody's state of mind as to whether they have decided to live permanently somewhere. The process has now been made easier (the rest of this is available for subscribers).
