Nationality complications

I've had a few discussions recently that have highlighted an unexpected aspect of how British citizenship is passed on to children.

If a British citizen was born in Bermuda to British-born parents prior to the 21st May 2002, they will be considered a British citizen "by descent" only. This means that if they have their own children born outside of Bermuda or the UK, those children will not automatically be born as British.
