Do you speak English? For Bermuda Immigration, it’s not always so simple
First some housekeeping - I have redesigned and reorganised my website so that articles are organised by category. This will hopefully make it easier to search through what is becoming a large archive of articles and updates.
As an experiment, I have also added a comments section for new articles. This is open to subscribers and is a way to discuss anything arising from the updates, if of use.
Today's update is about the new English language requirement in the work permit policies, for an initial Standard work permit application, which is causing some confusion.
The new work permit policies have an English language requirement. This is waived for workers from a country where English is the native language (largely the Anglosphere plus various Caribbean countries), or have a degree from an English-instruction university or college. There may well be occasions where there is some dispute over what is a degree. Some professional courses might be equivalent to a degree but use some other terminology like diploma or certificate.
